Vessel Safety Check

Examiner issuing Certificate

A Successful Vessel Safety Check ending with the Examiner issuing a Certificate for the happy Boat owner!

This is what every boat owner would want!

Read on to see all the benefits of this free service from Flotilla 74!

It's the time of year to get your boat in shape for the upcoming season. One of the most important items on your checklist should be the FREE Vessel Safety Check offered by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary.

  • Enough stress cannot be placed on having your vessel examined by a Qualified U.S.C.G. Auxiliary Vessel Examiner. When one considers the number of unnecessary boating accidents each year, this FREE Examination can mean the difference between Life and Death.
  • When one also considers the soaring cost of Insurance, vessels which successfully pass the U.S.C.G. Auxiliary Vessel Examination will not only receive a Certified Inspection Decal (good for 4 years from date of inspection), but in many cases qualify for Reduced Insurance Premiums.
  • Items required to pass an inspection differ, depending on the size of your vessel. However, some basic items generally include a PFD (Personal Flotation Device) for each soul aboard, a functioning dewatering device, a mounted fire extinguisher, anchor and line.
  • A Vessel Examiner Henry Deviliers will thoroughly inspect your boat using a checklist that covers the various systems and safety items you need to ensure safe operation as shown below. Please email Officer Deviliers for any question.
