Vince Falco, a senior at
Wimberley High School, and resident of Hays County,
Texas, has been accepted into the United States Coast
Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.
Vince, the son of Michael Falco and Ahna Falco, is an
active member of the National Honor Society, the
Wimberley varsity tennis team, and a supporting
editor of the school newspaper, The Texan Times.
Other extra curricular activities include chess club
and several vocal performances.
Vince is a member of the 2nd Baptist Church of
Wimberley, a guitar enthusiast and plays in the
church band. His interest in the Coast Guard grew
while visiting Kodiak, Alaska with his dad early last
summer, where he had the opportunity to visit with
the Public Affairs officer, Christopher McLaughlin,
who gave Vince a tour of the Coast Guard base, the
largest facility of its kind in the country. A month
later, while in Pennsylvania, visiting family, he
made it a point to visit the Coast Guard Academy in
New London, for a first hand look. ‘I knew then
that this was where I wanted to go after high
school.” |
